Re: IMAPS.exe blocking on access to activity lockfile

Hi, We are seeing recurrent IMAP service instability (unresponsive but still running or sometimes stopping altogether), since we upgraded to 9.78. I'm not sure if waiting for lockfiles is the problem but, the only logs I see are the timeout waiting for lockfile. 1. Are you aware of and working on th...

Re: IMAPS.exe blocking on access to activity lockfile

Thanks Ian,
Do you have any idea what changed between 9.62 and 9.78 which would cause this blocking to become an issue for us?

Regards,
Aaron

Re: Mailbox creation does not check if email address already exists

Hi,
We still see the behaviour in 9.78. Is it relevant that we are using MSSQL backend?

Thanks,
Aaron

IMAPS.exe blocking on access to activity lockfile

Hi, Since recently upgrading from ME Enterprise 9.62 to 9.78, we are now intermittently seeing MEIMAPS.EXE blocking and logging the following error to the Windows event log: General: (MailEnable IMAP Service (D:\MAILEN~1\Bin64\MEIMAPS.exe) error: 32) ME-EXXXX: [Thread:7268] Error (Class S): BlockFil...

Mailbox creation does not check if email address already exists

Hi, If you create a new mailbox with name “user1”, in a post office with a domain “domain.com” then Mailenable automatically creates an email address for that user “user1”@”domain.com” WITHOUT checking if that SMTP address already exists! When, attempting to add an address to an existing mailbox, Ma...

PostOffice Public folder feature available when disabled!

Hi, We have noticed that the PostOffice Public folder feature is available when accessing a mailbox through Windows 10 Mail App MUA. We have tried disabling this everywhere we can find but the folder remains present and mail items can be written/read from it. The Windows Live Mail MUA does not "see"...

IMAP Server performance, large mailboxes

Hi, I have recently migrated a number of large mailboxes (1GB - 8GB) into my MailEnable 8.55 server. I am finding that the IMAP server is very slow to service IMAP clients opening these mailboxes. Example: Mailbox size: 811MB Total files: 4981 Inbox files: 3732 Logging into the above mailbox using S...

POP3 Server TLS/SSL certificate bindings

Hi, It appears that the MailEnable POP3 server does not follow the per-IP TLS/SSL certificate bindings properly. I have a default certificate configured for the server and I have an IP address with a different certificate bound to it. The SMTP and IMAP servers use the certificate bound to the IP cor...

Re: Multiple SSL Certificates

The problem lies a little deeper than MailEnable. A TLS/SSL enabled server cannot know the domain name used by the client to reach the server and thus cannot choose a certificate according to the domain name, except when the domain name is provided using the TLS SNI extensions. Without SNI, you are ...
