Re: Filtering compressed (zip, rar) attachments containing executable (exe, etc) files.

Stuart, OK. I think its easy. Look at below from my pickup event. Do a search on the net and find a freebie product called "munpack". It unpacks mime files. Download 7Zip. Create the c:\temp\original and c:\munpack\temp structures with munpack and 7Zip in the locations specified in the batch file. C...

Re: Filtering compressed (zip, rar) attachments containing executable (exe, etc) files.

Have a look at the filter "where the message has attachments"... it has all the exes, *.com, *.scr already listed that you are talking about :)

Easy fix.

Re: Sent, Sent Items, Trash, Deleted, Deleted Items

I have seen this. When people use Phones/Pads etc they create their own flavour of "Sent", Trash, Sent Messages etc. Also happens with different mail clients. If you use IMAP on the phones then "Sent", Trash structures etc get created on the mail server. When you delete or send on the phone the item...

Re: SpamAssassin -is there a way to apply to incoming mails only

Paul, that would work but the fakers who use your @domain.com address will get a free pass :( I have tried adding some of my domain internal ip addresses under trusted_networks x.x.x (and have obscure internal addresses e.g. 172.32.32 ). Otherwise, It would need to be scripted somehow so that there ...

I use the filter "where the message has attachments and added *.rar and *.zip to that. Send them to Quarantine.

Re: scripted filter ME_HEADERS_CONTAIN not working for Deliver-To=Junk

Not sure but have you tried removing the "" around ----> "*X-ME-Content: Deliver-To=Junk*

It may be looking for something that has a literal * in it?

Re: [SOLVED] Some Messages bypass filters

In some cases I think it is not your imagination. I see it too but I think it < 1% of messages. I can see they are marked up even in headers and RE but still pass the filter without taking the actions. On each filter, if there is any action performed I add something like <filter name>=1 to the heade...

Re: Mail Enable filter support/no duplicates copies reqd

Hi Onus, The below is laborious but would probably work. You will need to create a custom filter for each boss and user where you put all the names of the bosses in one result and all the employees in a second result. Everything else is not from the company. What you could then do is have the "Actio...

Re: A real mirrored MailEnable solution?

Tried to ask sales this once about the licensing of Mail Enable. If they are clustered is this an extra license cost?

Re: A real mirrored MailEnable solution?

We don't have an automatic cluster but we use a program called "fastcopy" to sync the mailboxes and config structure each hour to another server. We are syncing about 1Tb in 15 mins with only a small hit on CPU and disk while doing this (i.e. it copies only changes). If our main server dies then wit...

Re: Is this possible. Mail between 2 pc's

Check/disable firewalls on your server? there may be a block on smtp, imap etc You should be able to send mail without dns by just using the IP Address everywhere of the server for connection. Make sure you have got your ports right. By default sending will be port 25 and receiving via IMAP 135. I w...

Re: Global Address List Configuration

Its an address book thing... Play around in the Address Book area of outlook and in there is an option to push up the Mail Enable GAL to the top of the list.

You are using the "Mail Enable Connector" and not standard IMAP right?

Re: mail not being recieved on time

I would also make sure that you put the Mail Enable password into all his devices and connectors (and tell them dont try to change it ever). We have it all the time where the twats change their password in AD and then don't change it on their phone, ipad, android device etc etc someplace. They then ...
