Scott, a few "non-core" commands have not been implemented in the HTTPMail Service. Marking messages as unread falls into this category. A minor upgrade to the service is planned to provide "complete" functionality along integration with IIS (ISAPI Ext/Filter). Increased functionality within the HTT...

Michael, finally got an answer on this one.... the current release (there are releases for standard and pro available) resolves this problem. Apparently, the issue was caused by not handling cases where the generated password for the IME_ accounts violated a security policy. This issue should now be...

Michael, Interested to know the version of webmail your running. Diagnostic Utility will inform of this. Firstly, the crash on the install should not have happened - and having the MMC open is no big deal either. The installation will merely prompt to replace these files at its completion. Intereste...

The catch all account works exactly as you have suggested it should (ie: it will catch all mail for a domain where an address map for mailboxes cannot be found). Hence, if I address a message to userA@domainname.com it should be delivered to UserA's mailbox (assuming such an address has been assigne...

Michael, Was it working at all before you changed the password for the IME_USER account? In any case, you need to make sure that IIS is synchronised with the same password as that held in the SAM/AD (Windows Password Database). Here's how to do this (from within IIS): 1.. Open the Internet Services ...

This is correct. When the service attempts to access files - the F-Prot "Real Time Protector" prevents the deletion of the virus; hence inhibiting the removal. In short, you should not run any Real-Time antivirus protection on a PC that is running the MTA with Virus Protection enabled (from within M...

Yes, you can configure MailEnable to bind to whichever port you like (assuming it is free/not used by another service). This can be configured from within the MMC Admin Console under the properties of the SMTP Connector and POP3 Service respectively. Specifying an alternate port for SMTP has limited...

It is likely that your MTA will need to be restarted (as this is responsible for moving messages between connector queues).

Make sure you use the FPCMD.EXE file as the path to your virus scanning utility.

In the short term, you should probably disable anti-virus until you queues clear.

Robb, The cross is most probably there because of a contention between MailEnable and MS SMTP Virtual Server (as both will try to bind to port 25). There are a few options here - but the easiest thing to do is to right click on the server under the IIS MMC. Under the General tab, click Advanced .. E...

The IME_USER and IME_ADMIN accounts are only used for Professional and Enterprise edition functionality (spefically webmail and webadmin). The reason the accounts are created in standard is so that the upgrade to professional does not need to explicitly change permissions apon install. (as setting t...

No Problem - As you see this is more an IIS setting than a web app; we could change it in the script, but decided not to in order to keep it more generic. Cheers - Dave

There are two timeouts that are used by WebMail. One is the session timeout and the other is the script timeout (which is probably the one you are interested in). Instructions to set the script timeout follow: 1.. Open the Internet Services Manager. (On Windows 2000: Start|Programs|Administrative To...

At this stage, you cannot limit the size of attachments, only the size of the entire message including attachments. This is done through the properties of your SMTP connector. Your right though - the feature was initially available in the early betas but was put on hold.

There is an extensive filtering engine under development . Allows you to define filters, rules and actions for dealing with messages as they pass through the MTA (much like the anti-virus plugins do - but MUCH more powerful).
