MEFilter - Next Version
OK, I am just about to start working on the next version of MEFilter. I will probably rename the current beta version to release version 1.0 No one has come back to me with any major issues, everything I have seen are setup issues due to odd installations (I do now of a few minor issues). If anyone ...

I think the reason the install is complaining could be something to do with building the install script on a XP machine. It may be because the file cannot be updated properly so it just keeps saying they are out of date. You do not even need to run the install program unless you cannot run the MEFil...

I don't see how this can happen unless something else is modifying the ME control file. All MEFilter does it move the control and message files from the inbound queue to the holding area using a file system move command, it does not open, read and then re-write the files. When the file is released v...

The first thing I am going to say about this log file is that the first two emails don't look as if they are the same. I see the subject line is the same, but look at the size of the emails the are so different. Are you sure the original email should have been blocked and the one sent to you has not...

There should be no limit to the amount of email that can be in a holding area as they are just files in a directory. The only issue you may find is that as more files get into a single area it will get slower using the console as it need to read more files. As for you inter office memo, I cannot see...

MEFilter reads the ME command file to workout who the recipients are so all people on an email TO, CC and BCC should have stats created. Any email that goes through the ME MTA will have stats created for it. As for switching off some parts of MEFilter, just do it. You can use as little or as much as...

When the email is released from a holding area via the console, it has an additional header added to it and then it is placed back into the SMTP queue. ME should then process it again, first calling MEFilter (which will ignore the email because of the added header) and then the anti virus "should" r...

The first question I will ask before anything else is have you completed a standard install of both MailEnable and MEFilter or is there anything (no matter how small) that is different ? Almost 90% of problems that people have had are due to setup problems. As far as I know everyone who have install...

The reasons behind seeing different sender and recipients on the screen to what is in the email is because:- When an email is sent to ME the sender email address has to be passed to the SMTP engine, this is the address that ME writes to it's control file (which is the address that is displayed on th...

I don't want to sound nasty, but if everyone opts for a free webmail solution and does not purchase the Pro version of ME (I know it might not be 100% for everyone), we may well end up with no free version. I am sure the ME developers need a number of sales to allow them to keep the hole project goi...

I have not had anyone else report this type of problem, so I am going to guess that you must have something missing from your config file. Have you made all of the changes and updates to the file for the new version. If you do not, some things could be set that are incorrect for your version even if...
