The product is relatively new in that it has been under development for around 2 years and was first released as beta around 8 months ago (we would like to think that it is maturing rapidly though :-)). We are intending to publish some architecture/overview information on the site, but most of this ...

There is currently no way to recover messages deleted from webmail (other than restore the MAI file from a backup). When you click the delete button, they actually get deleted from the file system. In the future, an option may be made available to change allow webmail to use the deleted items folder.

Kurt, There are only two places that mailenable stores its configuration (in the standard version at least); the registry and the TAB files in the Program Files\Config directory (this is the default location anyway). Since we have validated the two registry entries (the ones you verified in the MMC,...

We actually implemented MD5 hash first up, but we removed it because it was a nightmare to manage the scripting accross different browsers. Instead we opted to use SSL as this would allow the entire session to be encrypted (including when people change their passwords etc). Only problem is cost of t...

If you entered this domain in, and the SMTP outbound agent is perforning an MX lookup on it, it is likely that it is the default mail domain you specify at installation. This being the case, you can simply modify it using the MMC administration utility. Check the properties of the SMTP Connector usi...

You can delete these files and it will not affect mailenable. In most cases there is a set of 3 log files for each MailEnable service. Debug Log - ( XXXX-Debug-YYMMDD.log) Activity Log - ( XXXX-Activity-YYMMDD.log) W3C Extended Log -( EXYYMMDDHH.log) Note: the name of the log file for W3C is in acco...

Sam, the SMTP-IN indicates an SMTP Inbound request. SMTP-OU indicates a SMTP outbound activity. What you have sent does not indicate that someone relayed through your server. You need to check to determine whether the data command was issued against the server. In order for someone to relay, there s...

Steve, the NETBIOS name and number of CPUs are required to generate the server licensing keys. A means of doing this will be available through the MailEnable's web site in the next few days. The registration application is also being modfied to be able to generate licensing requests as e-mails and p...

You should use your log files and diagnostic utility to determine why the messages are being produced. Make sure you have not removed the POSTMASTER address map for your local domains. If you have, re-create it. If you remove this account, you may end up with looping issues when messages are bounced...

Thomas, Since the first posting reference did not seem to fit your scenario, perhaps this one will: http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.php?t=104. (you may need to post a little more info on exactly what you are trying to do). In any case, this reference outlines how to change the listening port n...

The fact that you can access pop and smtp services locally on the server indicates that it is most likely an internal DNS issue. Make sure you can ping the MailEnable server from your client. The first suggestion is to use the IP address of the server as the Inbound and Outbound Mail Servers on your...

Yes, IMAP was high on the agenda but we delayed it because we nominated to adopt HTTPMail instead; primarily because it is more efficient. (HTTPMail offering the same functionality as IMAP - but limits you to using Outlook 2002 or Outlook Express). None the less, it is likely that IMAP will feature ...
