The MTA event passes two parameters, the first being the name of the file and the second being the connector code. An example (VBScript) that shows how to use these parameters is as follows: Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") MailDataPath = WshShell.RegRead("HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail ...

Look in the folder Mail Enable\Config\Postoffices\PONAME\Lists. There you should find a set of .TAB files, one per list, that contain the email addresses of all list members.

I saw a post elsewhere in the forums that said some error that was occurring was due to an account name of admin. I wonder if you might be having a similar problem. A search of the forums should find the post I'm referring to.

You are talking about other mail servers accepting your mail. MailEnable has nothing to do with SPF for outgoing mail, that is entirely a function of DNS. If your mail is currently being rejected then it is most probably not a SPF failure but something else (unless your DNS setup is actually failing...

Put the list password as the first thing in the subject line of your message surrounded by [: and :]. In other words, if the password was Mail then the subject line would start with [:Mail:].

Rather than whitelisting IP's (which can be different if logging in from another connection while on the road) I would like to see the ability to add boolean logic to the filters so I can set up something that says Where the message body contains xxx AND NOT The sender is authenticated. Currently it...

Filter criteria bug in 1.53

After installing Pro 1.53 I have found that adding a new filter will present a fairly long list of criteria for filtering. However, if you edit a filter that was created in a previous version that has now been carried over to 1.53 the criteria list is much shorter (all the new criteria are missing)....

Note that there is a missing quotation mark (") after Queues and Postoffices in the second and third commands. Put this in and you won't have the Path not found error.

SPF failure for local postmaster

When non-delivery reports are received from external mail servers they tend to use the <> from address which is then handled as the postmaster of the domain receiving the report. The IP address is however that of the reporting server. The SPF check promptly fails as it reports (quite correctly) that...

You should also have a look at AWStats which does a pretty good job of delivering email stats. There is a thread in the forum (forget which one now) which deals with this.

Have you tried setting the MTA to use only one thread? This was mentioned elsewhere as multiple invocations of the anti-virus software (in my case AVG 7) can cause problems in deleting infected mail. Since I made the change I rarely find anything left in the scratch folder.

Activity logging

We use AWStats to log email activity on our server. The reports are fairly comprehensive and very informative.

The whole system was fairly easy to setup and automate.
