I have a client with multiple Windows desktops using a variety of email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail) that is experiencing locked mail boxes from time to time. I have reviewed the logs and occasionally find a bad username/password entry.
tried to log in, but not a valid username/password combination
As the username and passwords are always stored in the email clients it should not be possible. After the mailbox is unlocked, the mail client functions properly and magically has the correct user name and password again. The logs show no attempts to login from other IP addresses other than the office IP.
As the issue is happening to multiple users (but not all) at the office location on a random basis (user 1 has the issue today, no issues for approx. 1 week, then 2 other users experience the issue) I am stumped and not sure where to look. I believe the issue must be with the office network/internet connection.
Any ideas/help Is much appreciated.
