A friend of mine who is totally computer illiterate and now no longer has an IT guy had an old server crash. It was a Server 2008 hosting a mail domain with Exchange Server 2007. I talked him into getting something a little newer and up-to-date, so he bought a new Dell T30 with Server 2016 Essentials. And, of course, we decided it would be the most frugal route to use MailEnable to replace the Exchange Server.
He has a static IP from Cox tied to the MX record for the domain, which is mail.companyname.com. He has a Cox cable modem connected to a Linksys E3200 router which is doing the DHCP. Currently the server has its IP set statically set to 192.168.1.2 with the default gateway set to 192.168.1.1. I have MailEnable installed and his domain configured. I am not sure where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
New to mail servers. Need help configuring Server 2016 Essentials.
