NO [BADCHARSET (US-ASCII)] Character set not supported for search

Post by si458 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 10:17 pm

Hi all,
im using the mailenable standard edition with outlook and roundcube without any issues
we are also using z-push for mobile devices
everything is working APART from the search facility on mobile devices via z-push
when i search for an email, i keep getting empty results, but do the same query in roundcube and it returns results
the only error i can see from the imap logs are 'NO [BADCHARSET (US-ASCII)] Character set not supported for search'
but according to the logs it actually sets the search as UTF-8 ?
is this a problem with z-push or mailenable?
where would i begin looking into this error?
Regards
Simon

Hi,

The reason why the search is failing is because we only support support searching the US_ASCII charset for the IMAP search command.

Hi,
That’s sad to see,

I have asked in the z-push forums if it’s possible to change the charset

But is it possible for you to add UTF-8 to mailenable?

Regards

Simon
