Web Administration is Disabled

Post by Matth »

Hi

I've upgraded from 1.85 Pro to 3.0 Pro. Since then, I cannot login to Webadmin. I've got two problems with it.

I have Webadmin (and Webmail) running on two sites on my server, one is the default site which I can access using the http://IP-Address/MEAdmin. Here the login-screen looks good, but when I log in, it tells me, that Web Administration is Disabled and Authentication Failed. Using the same values I can log into Webmail and Webadmin is definitely checked on the domain in the management console.

I have Webadmin also installed on http://webadmin.domain.com/. When I try to start it from here, all pictures are not displayed and instead of the HooDoo-skin it tries to use the jelly-skin (which does not exist).

I have tried different stuff, but just can't find the problem. I have for example deleted the website in IIS and re-created it several times. Did not help. Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks
Matthias

In terms of the webadmin login, I would make sure that you specify your credentials as mailbox@postoffice name when you login. You should also make sure that webadmin is enabled.
You probably have already done this, but perhaps re-check these settings:

The loading of the jelly skin is probably because the skin has been set for the web site via the MMC under Webmail->Site Options|Configure

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I've already checked and enabled webadmin. And under Webadmin->Site Options there is only hoodoo in the list, nothing else.

And I always log on with the full email-address.

Any other ideas?

Hi

I've upgraded now to 3.02 as I hoped that this would solve the problem.

I still have no access to webadmin no matter what I try.

I have deleted and reinstalled the website several times, verified that every single setting is identic but still, when I access through http://weadmin.domain.com/ then I only get a login-screen with no images (it tries to load them from "/MEAdmin/HooDoo/skins/jelly/login_frame_top_left.gif" instead of "/meadmin/HooDoo/skins/hoodoo/login_frame_top_left.gif" and it displays the jelly-skin in the selection only, while this skin is not installed. I have now even tried to find "jelly" in the registry, but nothing found there either.

Funny enough is, that when I access WebAdmin through the default-website on http://IP-address/MEAdmin, then I do get a proper login screen with the hoodoo-skin shown.

When I try to login on either URL I either get an invalid credentials error message when I login using a wrong password or a Web Administration is Disabled message, when I try to login with the correct username/password.

The user is marked as admin and the domain has the webadmin enabled in the properties.

How can I enable the webadmin?? Any help highly appreciated.

Matt, could you please log a ticket under the defect category via MailEnable's ticket system (http://www.mailenable.com/support). That way an engineer can request copies of the config folder or access the server via RDP to diagnose the issue. Thanks.
