Global List and Outlook

Post by rfwilliams777 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:10 pm

At present, when using Outlook and the Global Address list, you have to type the person's full name correctly in order to get their name pulled up. You have no ability to browse a list within Outlook or update the information without going to the Directory in the MEAdmin. I have tried exporting the contacts from Outlook to both a TAB and CSV file, and both times the contacts did not import correctly at all. Although I only have one (large) client who needs this, a better working global list system would be much better if it can work with Outlook (at least) so people are discouraged when switching from Exchange.

I did find third-party programs that allows Outlook's calendar and contacts to sync between computers. I know it is difficult to make MailEnable have all those features and work with various versions of desktop e-mail software, but Outlook would be a good test bed.
