Bayesian dictionary - alternate languages

Post by kdavis51 »

Hey I was looking at the default Bayesian dictionary <MEDIR>\Dictionaries\Default\MailEnable.TAB It appears every entry is only in English..

Looking at how this filter actually works -can someone validate my assumption here: If you have customers who utilize English, Spanish and Italian and you want to fight spam with the Bayesian dictionary, then you will have to either create a custom dictionaries for each language or include the language translations in a huge dictionary? Or is this engine 1/2 intelligent and does some sort of language translation? My guess is it's dumb and I will be busy creating custom dictionaries...

If my assumptions are correct: how many ways/languages can you say Porn or Viagra - seems convoluted if I'm correct...

Anyone with suggestions?

Thanks

When you get to this stage it is a good idea to look at the external Spam Assassin or MX Scan type options for fighting spam. Let the external professional products deal with the issue.
