IMAP issues with 1 account but mult simultaneous connections

I've noticed issues when I have the same user account being simultaneously accessed using multiple IMAP clients (Desktop, Laptop, and Mobile Phone). Saving drafts/templates/etc seems to take 30-120 seconds, and often times fails all together. I enabled IMAP debugging and it seems that the "_activity.tab" file is being locked and maybe that's preventing the other session threads from refreshing & or taking actions.

Something is clearly wrong since it often results in "Unable to save in drafts" error while composing emails, and also a complete failure to copy outgoing emails to the "Sent Items" folder (which means I'm loosing emails for records keeping).

The setup:
Win2008 server x64
Mailenable 7.02

Clients simultaneously accessing same email account:
3 using Thunderbird 17.0.4
1 using K-9 Mail (v4.200) on Android (JellyBean 4.2.2)

Please download the latest version 7.05 from our downloads page as there were fixed to address similar problems when running IMAP as a 64bit service.

I did an upgrade over the weekend to v7.05, and from looking at the debug log, that didn't appear to really do much. I'm still getting locking issues on the _activity.blk files.

BTW, @MailEnable-Ian: the IMAP service appears to be a 32bit process on win2k8 x64. Is there a native x64 IMAP process available?

I've a little problem.
I've upgraded my prodution server to the new 7.07 release (started from version 5.xx on this server).
i've tryed to apply the above descripted procedure to enable 64 bit version of the program but i can't find in the bin64 folder any of the requested program.
On a testing installation i've some of the 64 bit version in the bin64 forlder but, in this case, the meimaps.exe is not present.
On the production server i've installed the programs in a personalized folder under D: drive (not in c:\program files (x86) ). Can this be the problem?
how can i check which version of the component is running (32 or 64 bit)? I think could be nice if system overview or in the diagnostic Report just say if it's running in 32 or 64 bit
it's fine to copy the bin64 forlder from a test installation made on a cleen system? in this case can i be sure that any further upgrade will work fine?

Are you experiencing the same problems as the original thread?
Since the original thread shows that Access Denied Errors are occurring - which typically would mean that the permissions to the message store are not correct (possibly because it has been moved from another server or restored from a backup).

In any case, to determine where your actual Application files are, you should run the MEDIAG (diagnostic utility) and take note of the Application Directory: (since perhaps the files you are looking at relate to an earlier installation).
The 64 bit version should be Bin64 rather than just BIN and IMAP should be in there.

i've some little problem whith imap. sometime, when connecting via IMAP via Outlook 2007 i recieve an error connecting (it's a mailbox whith more than 1gb of mails and a lot of folder).
the problem of activating the 64 bit version is that the bin64 folder don't have any 64 bit version (no meimaps.exe or other program)

I am not sure why the files do not appear there. I can only assume that your server is being detected as a 32 bit server only (are you sure it is 64 bit).
Version 7 will install 64 bit services. Also, I can tell you that the error of connection problem when loading IMAP will not be related to the bitness of the server.
To diagnose further will require access to log files and a review of the diagnostic report of the server. It may be best to raise this issue as a support request under the installation category so an engineer can review the configuration. Please see: http://www.mailenable.com/support

@bigred - Did this solve your problem? We have the same problem with users getting the unable to copy to sent or drafts folders and I can't for the life of me figure out why this started happening.

We've been running me for about 2 years and this problem seems to have cropped up within the last 30-45 days.

@dtkk - I don't have the issue any more. I was eventually able to get x64 working on my system so I can't tell you if it was due to running the new x64 services, or if it was simply because I re-installed the newer version that fixed it. At any rate, it's not giving me any more headaches. IMAP polling takes only seconds now (whereas it used to take minutes) and draft saving works flawlessly w/no timeouts.

FYI - here is the thread for how I got x64 working, since I had some issues with that. Hopefully you don't run into the same problems, but you can reference that thread in case you do.

I followed the directions in the link that me-Ian posted and got no errors. I guess I just assumed that this meant that the 64-bit executables were now in play. Hate to sound like a newb here but I'm a *nix admin normally. How can I be sure that I'm running the 64s?
