Hi,
What authentication method is the scanner using to authenticate via SMTP? Can you check the SMTP Activity log file to see what the scanner i sending when authenticating?

Hi, Professional is limited where it does not provide sender policies like Enterprise edition and therefore you will be limited in only creating global message filters. Within the web mail client users can navigate to the "Options" page and under the "General > Client Settings" node it will report each client setting they would need to specify for IMAP, SMTP etc within an email client.

The first option to help prevent this is to enable the SMTP Security setting for "Address Spoofing" and set the option to "Authenticated senders can spoof the sender address". You need to check within IIS under the "MailEnable Webmail" website bindings to see if the binding for mewebmail.localhost was assigned to port 8888. If not then do this manually under IIS and not via the MailEnable administration console.
