Connector not installing on latest version of Windows 11

Post by kevvyc »

Hi -

I've run into an issue where the connector is not installing on the latest version of Windows 11

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
Version: 10.0.22621 Build 22621

After hours (yes, hours) of troubleshooting, it looks like a Visual C++ Redistributable component is not installing.

Does the connector use the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable?

If so, then the latest version of Windows 11 is preventing the installation.

Other things tried (but failing):

* Installing the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable component

2008redisterror.jpg
2008redisterror.jpg (31.95 KiB) Viewed 7930 times

* Manually registering the MAILENABLEMS32.DLL file

No problem installing on the latest version of Windows 10 (latest install was about 5 months ago.)

Anyone else experience this? Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

Kevin

I'm not sure about versions... I'm just now trying MailEnable. I've installed the Enterprise edition and have installed the connector I downloaded this morning (so I'm guessing it's the current one) on the latest Windows 11.

Email seems to work great. However, after installing and using it to connect to my email account, Excel hangs when I close it.

Upon searching, this seems to be an old problem with no fix. Maybe I need to look elsewhere for an Exchange replacement....

There is a fix for the connector available at https://www.mailenable.com/beta. Otherwise disabling fast shutdown in Excel will resolve it.
