Count of SMTP email Addresses

Post by bobkaorn »

I am running a Windows Plesk server with multiple domains and Mail Enable. Sometimes a domain will reach the SMTP limit and stop sending mail for a period of time. When that happens I am trying desperately to figure out which user on which domain was the cause. Often its someone who thinks they can send hundreds of emails per hour for marketing purposes or perhaps their account was compromised.
I cant find anything that will look at the log file and say xxxxx@xxxxx.com sent xxxx emails for example and list how many emails each address tried to send in that log file.
I can find software that monitors log and software that does word counts, but they all end up just showing the domain (xxxxxxx.com - 2000 occurrences, etc.) and not the actual email address. they seem to stop at the @ sign and just take what's after it.
This is very annoying when there is a rush to stop/block a specific user do to abuse or a hacked account.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciate. :)
Thanks!

Hi,

Ensure you running the latest version of MailEnable. When you click on the "MailEnable Management" node within the MailEnable administration console you will see "System Messages" list in the right hand pane. It will list system alerts like the following example:

Message: ME-I0xxx: The 1 recipient(s) for mailbox mailenable.local/test puts it over limit of 1 per hour (current count 2).

Time: 3/03/2022 9:57:17 AM
Severity: Critical
Postoffice: mailenable.local

Hi,

Apologies you need to enable this within the "Metray" utility in the Windows task bar. Open Metray and then navigate to the "Alerts" tab. Tick the option for "System Messages".
