Mail Enable New Install

Post by Tom »

I just installed MailEnable Standard, version 1.80, on a new Windows
2003 Server, Standard Edition.

I created PostOffice1 with one Domain and a few Mailboxes, but no
groups and no lists. Then I sent a few emails from my accounts
at Hotmail and Yahoo to test MailEnable. All went well. Both redirecting
the emails to another email address, or not redirecting and then using
POP3 from Yahoo all worked.

Then I created PostOffice2 with one Domain (using a different Domain
name) and a few Mailboxes.

But here is where it gets strange!

If the Mailbox in PostOffice2 is also in PostOffice1, then the Mailbox
in PostOffice2 can receive mail and either redirecting or pop mail
works.

But if the Mailbox in PostOffice 2 is not in PostOffice1, then the
Mailbox in PostOffice2 cannot receive mail, and Yahoo cannot POP mail
from this Mailbox, saying the Mailbox name or passwork are invalid.

How do I fix this?

Hi,

In regards to your problems with users from the second postoffice unable to authenticate through POP, the reason could be that you are using just a mailbox name when trying to log the user from the second postoffice in your mail client.

When trying to authenticate a user that resides in a postoffice other than the default postoffice, then you have to specify the postoffice its in in the user login details.

(EG: mailboxname@postofficename).

More information about What syntax are the credentials i pass to Mailenable services can be found here:
