ClamAV Virus Scan Error

Post by dchan@egain.com »

We are having error on scanning attachment, and I had update register setting to increase time out from 20 sec to 60 sec but problem still exist.
We do see attachment size is large, do we need to make more than 60 sec for time out or we need other solution?
Below is error:
Error scanning attachment - Command Line Scanner Process ("D:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Antivirus\ClamAV\clamdscan.exe" "D:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Scratch\91562AB285C0475F9A541828048A1B50.MAI\0.ATT" --no-summary) took too long and was terminated

We do see some mail had remove but seems this mail has no attachment.

Hi,

Try and run the clamscan.exe within a Windows command prompt (run as administrator) within the following path: Mail Enable\Antivirus\ClamAV and run a scan manually on the MAI file to see how long it takes to scan. This will give you an indication if you need to increase the "Process timeout" value.

Example:

clamscan "C:\program files (x86)\Mail Enable\postoffices\{postoffice name}\MAILROOT\{mailbox name}\Inbox\messageID.MAI"

A command-line scan is completed but took 1m 35s. My timeout setting is 60 s on the registry. Is it means I need longer timeout setting large attachments?

Known viruses: 8499173
Engine version: 0.101.4
Scanned directories: 1
Scanned files: 1
Infected files: 0
Data scanned: 81.15 MB
Data read: 9.37 MB (ratio 8.66:1)
Time: 95.405 sec (1 m 35 s)

HI,

Yes try and increase the value to 120 seconds to see if this helps.
